Designed for my début exhibition ‘Need is not the reason…’ AV stands for Articulated Vehicle, this seat lives up to it’s name with a pine frame with upholstered poly urethane foam, housing gas struts with hinging mechanism and stainless steel feature panel. The design is an exploration of form hiding function and a product relying on the user to make it whole. The av dual seat when unused is sprung to maintain its form, until sat upon, where it accepts the user… after the user moves from the seat, it returns to its original form once again.
